Networking and personal branding matter more than ever. With fewer open positions and more applicants per role, getting noticed through professional connections, open-source contributions, or thought leadership can provide crucial advantages.

This split-screen phase will eventually resolve, though the timeline remains uncertain. As AI technologies mature and prove their business value, hiring patterns should stabilize around new norms. Some traditional roles will disappear permanently, while new categories of employment will emerge.
